Larcis Ducasse’s finest hours

25 April 2013

Music in the cellars

With fine June evenings in perspective Larcis Ducasse is opening its doors to the compositions of Johannes Brahms: “classical rigour of form, suppleness of writing, endless fantasy, a delectable elixir”, announced François Querre, the visionary organiser of the Grandes Heures de Saint-Emilion. The Sonatas for violin and piano – Number 1 in G major, Number 2 in A major, Number 3 in D minor and the ‘F-A-E’ – will be played by the Japanese violinist Kyoko Takezawa, accompanied by Itamar Golan. The former is a great violinist who has received numerous prizes in recognition of his musicality and virtuosity, and the latter is considered none less than “soloists’ favourite pianist”. Together they will transform Larcis Ducasse into one of the top venues during these great classical music moments.
